Tiryaki SAF

As one of the most strategic initiatives under Tiryaki Anadolu’s bioeconomy vision, Tiryaki SAF (Sürdürülebilir Havacılık Yakıtları Tedarik ve Üretim A.Ş.) is advancing a significant investment in the production of SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel) using raw materials derived from vegetable and animal waste oils. Globally recognized as a key component of the energy transition, SAF is increasingly seen as an environmentally friendly alternative to fossil-based fuels, with strong potential to reduce carbon emissions.

Positioning itself as one of Türkiye’s pioneers in this field, Tiryaki SAF focuses on the long-term supply of feedstock for jet fuel production. Backed by Tiryaki Agro Holding’s global supply chain expertise, the company is developing a model centered on waste vegetable and animal oils. An investment of approximately $100 million is planned to establish infrastructure for the cleaning and pre-processing of this feedstock.

Aligned with circular economy principles, this system enables the repurposing of waste materials while contributing to environmental sustainability. Beyond energy production, the project supports a broader transformation across the agriculture and food sectors. In the coming period, increased adoption of organic farming practices, greater use of renewable energy in agriculture, strengthened efficiency measures for critical resources such as water and soil, and more effective implementation of mechanisms such as carbon trading are expected.

Moreover, the integration of digital agriculture technologies, including artificial intelligence, geographic information systems, and climate and soil forecasting models, will further enhance productivity throughout the production processes.
